From the Fontbots we move on to the Tinkerbots ! This is the photo stream of a flickr user who goes by the name of Tinkerbots. This very creative sculpture artist creates amazing designs from anything you could find at the junkyard. Nothing but scrap metal and old clockwork bring life to this unique series of robotic creatures and rayguns.

Johan Prag is a Swedish Art Director living and working in Tokyo, Japan. Before coming to Tokyo, he was part of renowned design agency Stockholm Design Lab in Stockholm, Sweden. Nowadays, bands have to be more creative then ever to promote their music. Rock band Johnny Hollow came up with… a game!

Well, not just any game… having bugs pushing absinth isn’t your everyday-game description.
It’s fairly hard to tell where the game ends and the promotional page begins, since you have to beat the game to unlock songs. But, it’s carefully measured blend of graphics, music and animations, together with the decadent textures brings an absolutely beautiful result.

Based on their latest animation Wall-E, Pixar Animation Studios has released Burn-E. It can be found on the DVD’s extra’s. It’s directed by WALL-E lead animator Angus Maclane, and was made around the same time as Wall-E.

The short film is based on a character who was briefly seen when WALL-E and EVE fly around the Axiom starliner, and enter through a door, locking a welder robot outside of the ship.

Dans la tête is a short animation about a soldier getting hit in the head in combat. When he arrives at the gates of heaven, there seems to be a problem and he gets sent back…

It was made by 4 students of ESMA (the animation school of Montpellier): Grégory DAMOUR, Maxime ENTRINGER, Anthony GILLES and Allan SELLIER.

Here is a very cool animated short called ‘The Moment’. It was created by two Filmakademie students and has been shown at SIGGRAPH08, Anima Mundi ’08 and SICAF 08. The website shows you all the steps in the process of making this movie from storyboard to 3D animation.
